You lot, yeah, you, the ones with land. How do you receive payment? Euors or Sterling? If you decided to take payment in Euros, would you have been better off (esp last year when Sterling collapsed vs Euro) This year, do you take a chance and hope that Euro collapses vs Sterling? would you like to be able to trade currency at better rates than banks offer? Could you make more from your SFP?
I know a chap called Chris Birts who looks after Agriculture at World First - he is an Foreign Exchange dealer basically, but he is from farming stock. Anyone I introduce to him I get a small commission, and you could make more od your SFP. PM me if you want to find out more. Or don't. Up to you. Plug over

So, is it not a good idea to lock into a rate that is advantageous? Protect yourself against currency fluctuations? Just a thought. I'm surprised that recipients of SFP aren't interested in finding out if they lock in to a good rate of exchange

I didn't say that you screamer, I was saying that if you are waiting to see the Euro collapse against the Pound, don't hold your breath.

lets face it, the euro is a non currency. held together with bits of tape and string. i have heard of businesses in some Euor zone countries refusing to accept payments in euros from less scrupulous countries (Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy) Doesnt that make a bit of a mockery of the single currency?

I haven't.
A currency with the economic enertia of Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of the member states behind it isn't going to collapse because Zorba has can't sell a few kebabs this week.
Personally I am more concerned about our great Sovereign state's currency when labour get another five year term and we lose our AAA credit rating and our our ever widening trade deficit and the knock on effects of pumping £250 billion of paper currency into the economy and the huge cuts in public services which have to happen sooner or later and the crippling tax rises that are on their way to pay for the current administration's incompetance.

With usual caveat regarding financial guru on here. I would not like to have either pounds or bloody Euros. Would seem the central banks for both think the same as they go round buying up currencies like ours. Shall just lei back and enjoy.

I thought your SFP had to be above £40,000 to receive it in Euros ?
Ours is well short of that I'm afraid
Right now I don't care what it comes in as long as we get it
